Position Summary
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Division of Geriatric & Palliative Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the inpatient setting. This position is located at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and contributes to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional, compassionate, and collaborative palliative care to inpatients.
- Engage with and support patients and families.
- Assist in the coordination of care for patients seen by the Community Health Division Palliative Care Consultation Service in the inpatient setting.
- Participate in program administration, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Part-time, 0.5 FTE
- One week on, one week off;
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm - No weekends or on-call required
Preferred Experience
- Previous inpatient, acute care, and critical care PA/NP or RN experience preferred
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- Advanced Practice Nurse / Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- BLS
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization, with preference for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP), Adult Care NP, or Geriatric NP
- Will consider certification as Acute Care NP and/or Family Practice NP
- Additional Certification in hospice/palliative care or oncology nursing strongly preferred
- Physician Assistant – Wisconsin PA License; NCCPA certification; BLS
