Senior Research and Development Technician
Wacker Neuson America Corp., a global leader in light and compact equipment, is seeking an experienced Senior R&D Technician to join our Test, Validation, and Compliance team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on problem solver who thrives on building, testing, and innovating in a collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do:- Prototype Construction (30%) – Assemble, fabricate, and test prototype components and fixtures, including electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems. Perform machining, sensor installation, and data acquisition setup.
- Test Validation (30%) – Conduct performance tests (torque, horsepower, hydraulic pressure, voltage, current, strain, vibration, etc.) using inspection and validation tools.
- Documentation (20%) – Maintain detailed test logs and generate technical reports with minimal supervision.
- Competitive Evaluation (10%) – Inspect and evaluate competitive equipment performance.
- Product Training (10%) – Support production and service teams with training, new product updates, and troubleshooting.
- Safety – Consistently follow and promote safe working practices.
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 100 lbs. assisted).
- Comfortable working in varied conditions (hot, cold, wet, dusty, loud).
- Operate and transport equipment, trailers, and compact machinery safely.
