The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs trucks, trailers, and nursery equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation year-round. This hands‑on role supports daily logistics and seasonal production by minimizing downtime and keeping fleet and equipment operating at peak performance.
- This position can share time between our various locations in Jackson or Menomonee Falls, WI.
- Ability to work 8-10 hours a day.
- Ability to start early on some days and stay late on others when needed.
The successful applicant:
- Greasing.
- Identifying problems or possible future problems.
- Take direction from the Supervisor and complete general mechanical projects within a reasonable time.
- Assist in higher-level mechanical repairs and work directly with the Head Mechanic.
Pluses, but not required.
- Ability to weld or fabricate.
- Mig.
- Plasma torch.
- Metal cutting.
- Measuring.
- 2+ years’ experience in an industrial mechanic environment.
- Class A CDL to assist in moving trucks and stock between locations.
- Willing to learn and grow within our full-service shop.
- Insurable driver’s license (through our provider).
- CDL License) Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test and ability to pass random drug tests through the years as required by the FMCSA.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Work outside in any weather condition.
- Good positive attitude and communication skills.
- A good, solid set of problem‑solving skills.
- Flexible and open to an ever‑changing work environment and daily responsibilities. Every day has its similarities, but never the same as the last.
$20.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
