Role SummaryReporting to the Service and Training Manager, the Service Technician will handle field service and valve repair, including instrumentation start‑up, configuration, documentation, calibration, troubleshooting, and installation review.
Responsibilities- Valve or instrumentation start‑up, configuration and documentation, calibration, trouble shooting, installation review and problem‑solving solutions or systems, and repair
- Confirm with field service customers work scope, tool requirements, and site time to accomplish work
- Respond and provide service in the field as needed and required
- Assemble and test automated and control valves
- Assemble product to specific drawings and standards
- Certification of backflow preventer test kits
- Technical training from Manufacturer’s
- Schedule work order assemblies with salespeople and shipments with the shipping department
- Basic wiring of switches, solenoids, position indicators, and control devices
- Read job blueprints
- Participate in safety initiatives as assigned
- Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards
- Utilize database programs, work order generation and work order updates
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, crane, etc.
- Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of shop facilities
- Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned

- Work Experience:
Entry Level (1 year experience in valve automation or instrumentation maintenance preferred but not required) - Education:
High School diploma or GED - Analytics/Computer
Skills:
Ability to use Excel, Word, and web‑based software applications; basic math skills - Organization

Excellent work ethic, good verbal and communication skills; ability to work independently - Cross‑Functional
Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment - Communication
Skills:
Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and customers; know when to request assistance when appropriate, especially when lifting heavy objects - Physical, Mental and Visual
Skills:
Ability to see, sit, talk and hear; lift/move/carry up to 50 lbs; be on your feet for 8 hours a day; stand, walk, crawl; climb stairs and ladders; bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel - Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license; forklift truck certification preferred; CDL license preferred - Travel:
Must be able to travel 60‑80% of the time, up to 40% overnight - After‑Hours Work:
Participation in after‑hours service calls to support customer needs outside of regular business hours
