Maintenance Mechanic (12 hour shifts)

Top plastics manufacturer seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance of automation and injection molding equipment.

Salary: $35 - $45 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with machinery and equipment, applying knowledge of automation and injection molding.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mechanical maintenance policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Document work performed and maintain equipment history records using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and development opportunities to remain current on industry standards and new technologies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience with automation, injection molding, and electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using a computerized maintenance management system for record‑keeping.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing technical training and development opportunities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary training in mechanical or electrical systems is a plus.
