Dental Assistant (Part-Time) | Mentor Smiles | Mentor, OHMentor Smiles is committed to providing exceptional patient care in a friendly, professional, and team-oriented environment. We are currently seeking a dependable, motivated, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and enjoys working closely with both patients and team members to create a positive dental experience.
Schedule Part-Time Position- Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Saturday:
Hours to be determined based on practice needs
Candidates must be available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and occasional Saturdays.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments before and after patient appointments
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, and other treatments
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations
- Set up and organize instruments, materials, and equipment needed for patient care
- Review and update patient health histories and clinical records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment recommendations, and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and infection control protocols
- Stock operatories and monitor clinical supply inventory
- Provide exceptional customer service and help ensure a positive patient experience
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the dentist or practice leadership
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Dental Assistant certification, registration, or licensure as required by state law
- Current radiography certification preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
