Position: HQ Classroom Assistant*189 Days/6.5 hrs*7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

HQ Classroom Assistant – Structured Language (Autism)

Period: 189 days, 6.5 hours per week (7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)

Job  –  School Year (Available ). Closing Date: 08/02/2026.

Salary Range

$17.04 - $22.71 (8-Points)

Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and mathematics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist classroom teacher with instructional activities, clerical work, and supervise one or small groups of children.
  • Occasional lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, administration, and other staff members.
  • Must meet Highly Qualified Classroom Assistant requirements.
Highly Qualified Requirements

Applicants are deemed Highly Qualified by one of the following:

  • Completion of an online Para Pro Assessment prescribed by the State Board of Education. Candidates must have their scores reported directly to the Ohio Department of Education from ETS. Upon successful passage, they may add the ESEA designation to their ODE license.
  • If not yet taken, the assessment will be scheduled at the Mentor Schools Board of Education building after being hired as a full-time employee. A two‑hour block of time is allocated for the test.
  • Adding the ESEA designation requires a one‑time cost of $20.00 to be added to the ODE Educational Aide permit. This is a condition of employment.
Education

High School Diploma.
