The Lead Young Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at the Mentor, OH location. This role is responsible for overseeing a young preschool classroom, designing and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities, and supporting children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Daily tasks include planning and delivering curriculum, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, observing and documenting children’s progress, and managing classroom routines.

The teacher regularly communicates with families about their child’s experiences and development, collaborates with colleagues and support staff, and follows all licensing, health, and safety guidelines. The role also involves participating in staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and contributing to center-wide events and initiatives.

• Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education, including knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience with Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development for young preschool-age children.
• Effective Communication skills for working with children, families, and colleagues.
• Understanding of readiness for Kindergarten and ability to support children’s transition to school.
• Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent credentials per state requirements).
• Prior classroom experience in a preschool or childcare setting, preferably in a lead teacher role.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and adhere to health, safety, and licensing standards.
• Demonstrated patience, reliability, professionalism, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
