Job Title: Controls Engineer Co-op

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Sr. Automation Engineer

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is a leading manufacturer of high‑performance structural components for aerospace, power, and industrial markets. PCC has more than 120 operations and approximately 20,000 employees worldwide and focuses on quality and dependable products.

The co‑op student will work on assignments related to their computer science or engineering education. These assignments will provide an effective learning experience and a sound intellectual and/or financial return for PCC.

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for various projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and test control algorithms and software.
• Participate in the troubleshooting and debugging of control systems.
• Support the integration of hardware and software components.
• Conduct research and analysis to improve existing control systems.
• Work with controls and automation equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
• Attend a weekly departmental meeting.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and review sessions.
• Perform any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of control systems, automation, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.

Full‑time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.

Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Co‑ops will be paid $25.00 per hour / 40 hours a week.
• Given top priority for future co‑op rotations and full‑time positions.
