Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented problem solver passionate about operational excellence? Avery Dennison is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead raw material quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will act as a critical link between operations, procurement, and external vendors to resolve quality concerns and implement preventative actions.
Primary Responsibilities- Supplier Quality Management:
Collaborate with raw material vendors to resolve issues, submit and follow up on supplier claims, and drive improvements to meet business needs. - Operational Support:
Provide internal production quality support, including risk assessments, product disposition, and troubleshooting related to issue resolution. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Interface with laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions to ensure quality standards are met across all business disciplines. - Continuous Improvement:
Utilize Avery Dennison’s Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) principles to improve quality metrics, such as complaints, losses, and hold, while reducing waste and rework. - Compliance and Audits:
Provide essential support during customer, supplier, third-party, and regulatory audits to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other relevant standards. - Training:
Deliver quality-focused training and support to production areas to foster a culture of excellence and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- 4–6 years of experience in Quality or a similar field, with a proven track record of handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Strong statistical background with proficiency in Minitab; knowledge of ISO 9001 and Six Sigma training/certification is highly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to various organizational levels.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% domestically to support vendor and site requirements.
The salary range for this position is $91,350 - $121,800 per year.
