WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Avery Dennison is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Process & Quality group in Mentor, Ohio. As a Process Engineer for our facility, you will execute projects of significant importance, scope and complexity and will resolve common and special cause issues that impact plant quality, reliability and performance.

• Support day to day operations in the production environment and work with other staff to identify, select, prioritize and execute process improvement projects.
• Provide general troubleshooting, engineering, maintenance, equipment and daily process assistance to our manufacturing line.
• Continually improve & optimize current products through variation reduction.
• Investigate manufacturing problems and consult with production teams, analyze the supporting data, recommend corrective actions, and follow through on recommendations to evaluate their effectiveness.
• Create, refine, educate and implement standard work.
• Use lean six sigma to eliminate waste, improve material flow, and streamline processes.
• Assist and improve the controls, equipment, and maintenance practices used to run the operations.
• Lead capital projects related to equipment installations, modifications, or upgrades.
• Support new product development and product design within technical teams.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE TEAM:

Avery Dennison has a long history of being a market leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

• BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering required or related engineering discipline.

• 1 to 3 Years process expertise in a manufacturing environment with Bachelor’s Degree; alternately 6 months of process engineering experience in a job offered with a Master’s Degree in related fields would also be considered.
• Experience with variation reduction using statistical analysis, statistical process controls, SPC (Statistical Process Controls), DOE (Design of Experiments), FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), and MSE (Mean Squared Error).
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities. Project Engineering and AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• ISO  and Six Sigma exposure/experience. Green Belt / Black Belt certification a plus.
• Mechanical competency with controls, instrumentation, PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) knowledge.

The salary range for this position will be $72k-96k per year. The hiring base salary range represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
