Automation Controls EngineerWe're looking for a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to lead full-cycle automation projects from concept and design through programming, integration, and on-site commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems, and will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver best-in-class solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead automation controls projects from design through commissioning
- Design and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety systems
- Program and integrate industrial robots including Fanuc, ABB, and Motoman/Yaskawa
- Develop PLC and HMI applications using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
- Integrate machine vision systems for inspection and quality control
- Define controls architecture including I/O layouts, BOMs, industrial networking, and safety systems
- Support panel build reviews, FATs, installations, and site startups
- Troubleshoot existing systems and support upgrades and improvements
- Assist with controls estimating and proposal development
- Experience programming and integrating industrial robots
- Strong Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC programming experience
- Background with motion control, servo systems, and VFDs
- Experience with machine vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence
- Knowledge of industrial networks including Ether Net/IP, PROFINET, and Device Net
- Ability to manage projects and communicate directly with customers
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and startup activities
