We are seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to lead and execute capital projects within a complex manufacturing environment. This individual will serve as a key liaison between operations, engineering, contractors, and business stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can identify challenges, develop practical solutions, and take ownership of projects from concept through completion. This role offers a balance of office-based project management and hands‑on collaboration within a manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Lead capital projects from initial scope development through commissioning and project closeout.
- Develop project charters, requests for proposals (RFPs), bid evaluations, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, and external vendors throughout project execution.
- Manage project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables to achieve business objectives.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Review engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications for quality and compliance.
- Support construction activities, commissioning efforts, and handoff to operations.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project documentation, progress updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Mentor and support less‑experienced team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-15 years of experience in project engineering, capital project management, or related engineering roles.
- Experience in a chemical processing, refinery, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Proven success managing projects from concept through commissioning.
- Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and engineering firms.
- Familiarity with CAD/design software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Self‑starter who can take ownership and drive results.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
