Job Description

As a key member of the Materials Group North America Operations Finance Team, the Divisional Operations Financial Analyst is a specialized finance professional responsible for analyzing, reporting on, and optimizing the financial aspects of inventory valuation, carrying costs, and transportation expenses (i.e., freight). This role will act as a bridge between Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain and Operations to provide accurate forecasting, variance analysis and deliver actionable insights to highlight cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost out throughout the MGNA network.

Key Responsibilities Business Partnership
  • Liaison between Operations and Commercial Leadership teams to drive action and mitigate risk of Inventory Obsolescence throughout the network.
  • Provides Finance, Operations & Supply Chain Management with interpretive and predictive financial analysis on Inventory and Freight to deliver actionable insights.
  • Help establish and track site & business level performance metrics against targets/goals.
  • Drive process improvements through the use of business intelligence tools and analytics.
Planning/Reporting/Analysis
  • Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain team to prepare actuals analysis and forecasts for Inventory and the effect of Slow Moving Inventory (i.e., Obsolescence).
  • Manage all aspects of Freight & Logistics cost management including weekly audits, funding, forecasting and actuals variance analysis for Inbound and Outbound freight.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Commercial teams to optimize inventory strategies and align with overall company financial goals.
  • Lead the coordination & planning of key recurring financial events (i.e., AOP, Weekly R&O, Quarterly Forecast).
  • Develop analytical tools to automate data aggregation and analyze standard reporting.
  • Fulfill various ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requirements, including developing, analyzing and presenting information.
  • Support Operations and/or Ops Finance in the preparation of the business case(s) and associated financial justification(s) for certain capital expenditure requests that involve freight or inventory management.
  • Perform and/or review and approve divisional financial analysis and journal entries and/or standard reserves/accruals/allocations related to monthly financial closing process.
  • Support internal & external audits and perform required SOX audit activities to ensure compliance certification for the business.
  • Coordinate follow‑up actions identified during month‑end MGNA Finance Close Meeting with MGNA Locations and ensure these are completed timely.
  • In conjunction with BPO provider (Accenture), review and/or perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assemble applicable back‑up/supporting documentation.
