Code Enforcement Officer
Job responsibilities include inspecting and enforcing nuisance and property maintenance codes and ensuring that residential rental properties meet minimum housing standards. The selected candidate will be required to complete the ICC/AACE Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Certification within 12 months of hire. Work involves significant contact with the public and requires excellent customer service and communication skills in receiving and resolving complaints to ensure that properties are kept to the standards set forth in the Mentor Code of Ordinances.
Qualifications- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Experience with residential building inspections desired.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Hourly rate: $20.28 - $37.36 (DOQ).
