Critical Care Registered Nurse - Mentor, Ohio

A contract opportunity is available for a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Registered Nurse with a strong ICU skillset and critical thinking abilities. This role requires expertise in immediate cardiac post-operative care and caring for complex pediatric patients in a highly specialized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the cardiac intensive care unit following cardiac surgery
• Manage inotropic medications and monitor patients with mediastinal chest tubes, central lines, and arterial lines
• Deliver advanced airway and ventilator support to critically ill neonates and children
• Implement family-centered care practices to support patients and their families during critical recovery phases
• Assist with post-cardiac catheterization patient management
• Navigate electronic medical records, preferably EPIC, to document care accurately and efficiently

Desired

Experience and Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with a focus on ICU nursing
• Proven experience in pediatric cardiac ICU, particularly post-operative cardiac patient care
• Skilled in managing complex lines and advanced respiratory support
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making capabilities
• Familiarity with neonatal care and pediatric advanced airway management
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred but not mandatory
