Role DescriptionThe Executive Legal Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Mentor, OH, supporting an attorney with high-level legal and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents and correspondence; managing case files and calendars; coordinating meetings, hearings, and travel; and maintaining accurate records and deadlines. The role involves communicating with clients, courts, and opposing counsel, handling intake and follow-up, and ensuring a professional, responsive experience.
The Executive Legal Assistant may assist with research, document review, and trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and briefing materials. This position requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong foundation in law and legal processes, with the ability to understand personal injury and related practice areas.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading pleadings, motions, correspondence, and agreements.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, attorneys, courts, and external parties.
- Experience in administrative assistance, such as calendar management, filing systems (digital and paper), data entry, and office coordination.
- Hands-on experience in legal assistant or paralegal roles, supporting attorneys with case management and trial preparation.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software, document management tools, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience in a legal setting; prior personal injury or litigation experience is a plus.
