Facility Supervisor (1st shift, Mon-Fri)

The role of the Facility Supervisor is to lead, supervise, and coordinate the day‑to‑day maintenance and repair of the facility buildings, grounds, and any associated equipment. The Facility Supervisor is also responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections of installed equipment, assignment of tasks to maintenance staff, coordination with peer supervisors, overseeing installations, inspecting repairs, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.

The Supervisor supports capital projects, manages outside contractors, and provides hands‑on facilitation of process repairs while ensuring the facility complies with all safety rules and procedures. The Supervisor maintains a clean and safe environment for all employees and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 1. Responsible for the appearance, custodial function, and safety of the facility, equipment, and grounds and ensure compliance with all building and health codes.
  • 2. Fulfill a leadership role by developing a positive and productive work environment, maintaining an objective approach to challenges, and promoting effective communication among all employees.
  • 3. Enforce site standards and expectations by providing in‑field oversight, mentoring, and coaching for assigned work crews and evaluating employee performance.
  • 4. Recognize maintenance needs and determine a plan for completing and tracking work by executing the preventative maintenance schedule and corrective maintenance repairs.
  • 5. Pair with the Maintenance Planner to utilize 100% of employee scheduled availability for repairs of the facility, life safety, site grounds, refrigeration, and material handling equipment; assist in scheduling contractors, maintain project plans, and inspect completed contractor work.
  • 6. Oversee daily and weekly maintenance schedules and work orders, ensuring decisions optimize utilization of resources in alignment with equipment availability and plant priorities.
  • 7. Work alongside production, engineering, purchasing, training, and other departments as a member of the organizational team; communicate with peers and managers on the status of equipment return to service dates; manage and review service contracts.
  • 8. Order material, equipment, and supplies necessary to complete maintenance tasks; maintain spare inventory of parts and supplies that are needed frequently.
  • 9. Demonstrate knowledge of troubleshooting equipment to identify the source of problems and develop effective solutions to eliminate reoccurrences; aid in process improvement and regulatory compliance programs.
  • 10. Assist the EHS Engineer in maintaining inspection logs for facility sprinklers, maintenance logs, and all federal, state, and city regulations; conduct and document regular facility inspections.
  • 14. Ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
  • 15. Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others, motivating and working with others to achieve desired results.
  • 16. Work alongside the production, engineering, purchasing, and training teams to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2. A minimum of three years of previous supervisory/leadership experience in the craft or discipline that is supervised.
