Senior Level Machinist

Summary

Experienced Cutting Tools machinist of CNC 5 Axis Mills w/ Okuma OSP Controls.

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications and machining parameters.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and shop mathematics in the cutting tool industry.
• Perform multiple set‑ups daily on CNC 5‑axis and mill machines.
• Work independently or alongside a team to train or guide others.
• Know how to program CNC equipment.
• Inspect your own work using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Ensure the daily production plan is executed and met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical, tooling, and fixture issues to improve efficiency.
• Track all work in process within the department, ensuring all materials are identified and traceable.
• Help employees regarding CNC machine setup, operation, malfunctions, etc.
• Identify and communicate production issues in a timely manner.
• Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
• Opportunity for growth in a leadership role within 2‑3 years of demonstrating expertise in the cutting tool industry.

Equivalent to high school education or related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions, dealing with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.
