Materials Manager

The Materials Manager is a key member of a cross-functional product line team, responsible for end-to-end materials planning, procurement, and vendor management. The role requires a hands‑on, collaborative leader who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and is deeply involved in forecasting, raw material planning, and cross‑departmental coordination with Sales, Quality, and Production.

• Lead procurement, vendor management, and raw material planning for a dedicated product line.
• Collaborate closely with Sales and Quality to align material availability with 6-9‑month forecasts.
• Resolve vendor issues and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Manage inventory levels, reorder points, and shipping/receiving coordination.
• Supervise a team including a dedicated buyer, shared planner, and expeditors.
• Support hiring, training, and performance management within the department.
• Drive cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

• Preferred: 7+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or related manufacturing roles.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Manufacturing experience required; aerospace industry experience is a plus.
• Must be comfortable in a flat, fast‑paced organization where team members wear multiple hats.
