Shop Helper - Metal Rework

Pay: $18.00/hr (1st Shift) | $20.00/hr (3rd Shift)
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Mentor, OH

Looking for a hands-on manufacturing role?

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Shop Helper to assist with the rework, repair, and finishing of metal components. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who enjoy working with tools, have strong attention to detail, and want to build their skills in a production environment.

What You'll Do

• Operate and tend CNC machines
• Load, unload, and measure metal parts
• Sort and inspect metal components for quality issues
• Perform deburring, re-tapping, marking, polishing, and minor repairs
• Use hand tools and power tools to refine finished products
• Check dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Read and follow blueprints and work instructions
• Maintain accurate production records
• Help keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

What We're Looking For

• Experience using hand tools and metalworking tools (grinders, files, taps, drills, etc.)
• Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions
• Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to learn new skills and follow directions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the shift
• Manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or metalworking experience preferred but not required
