Purpose of Position
Finish millwork components, prepare subassemblies, and apply finish to product for packaging and preparing for completed project shipment.
Role And Responsibilities- Final sand finish ready components in the finishing department
- Assist with bleaching, staining, and toning of stain grade work
- Sand stain grade components between sealer and finish coats
- Assist in prepping paint grade work for primer
- Perform the following finishing operations:
- Clear Applications including use of lacquer, varnish, polyvinyl, polyurethane, shellac, oil finish
- Color Applications including use of dyes, stains, glazes, wax
- Other Applications including the use of waxed and faux finishing
- Possesses working knowledge of woodworking and general finishing techniques
- Skilled use of sprayers, staining techniques, and hand tools
