Position: Repair & Assembly Technician (3rd Shift, Mon-Fri)

Repair & Assembly Technician (3rd Shift, Mon-Fri)

Intermediate level role for performing a wide variety of functions, processes, repairs and finishing on aerospace and marine gas turbine engine components in a climate‑controlled, state‑of‑the‑art facility.

Responsibilities
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately, including sketches, drawings, engineered work instructions and OEM instructions.
  • Use hand‑held power and non‑power tools to perform various operations.
  • Blend metals, weld, plate, and spray coatings.
  • Blend and remove nicks and high metal to create smooth transitions or return parts to the original contour.
  • Disassemble and assemble engine components, including main frames, press‑fit bushings, inserts, rivets, self‑locking nuts, and lock wiring.
  • Drill, tap, and re‑drill holes; use hand drills, reamers, chamfer tools, taps; operate small machines such as drill presses and lathes for repairs.
  • Use measuring devices to determine specific dimensions.
  • Inspect work for completion and quality to company, customer and manufacturer standards.
  • Participate in problem‑solving and continuous improvement efforts; communicate with engineers, supervisors and other employees to improve results.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in another industry with similar skills, such as automobile mechanic, body work, sheet metal fabrication or woodworking.
  • Experience using general hand tools and power tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic shop math, including decimals and fractions.
  • Some experience and understanding of using measuring gauges such as calipers and micrometers.
Other Qualifications
  • High school diploma or technical high school diploma or equivalent trade school credential.
  • General knowledge of standard shop practices and procedures.
  • Ability to be self‑directed and motivated.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
Work Environment
  • Position includes pre‑employment testing requirements, possibly including fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures; safety glasses, safety toe shoes and hearing protection are occasionally required.
  • Work in difficult positions from time to time; stand or sit for portions of the shift; move parts >50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts or other handling methods; move lighter parts
