Finishing Material Handler - Night Shift
Full‑time position located in Painesville, Ohio, reporting to the Finishing Team Manager. The Night Shift runs 10:45 PM‑6:45 AM, Monday‑Friday.
Responsibilities include:
- Move material to and from raw, WIP, finished goods, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing areas.
- Unload and load trucks with incoming and outgoing materials; verify accuracy against documentation.
- Complete inventory transactions in the Inventory Management System to document material movements.
- Support inventory accuracy by performing warehouse and departmental cycle counts, addressing discrepancies, and managing winding drum and rack inventories.
- Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and consumable supplies between production areas as needed.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping, condense space, and support 5S activities.
- Perform all duties safely, following standard procedures and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Assist with equipment maintenance as directed.
- Coordinate information with other departments and shift employees to ensure effective operations.
- Lead pallet, cardboard, and scrap recycling initiatives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Safety-conscious and acts as a role model for peers.
- Service‑oriented with strong quality focus and problem‑solving skills.
- Team‑player who encourages open communication and collaboration.
- Willingness to cross‑train and maintain proficiency in job tasks.
- Flexibility and reliability to support production and customer focus.
- Willingness to work overtime and short‑notice requests.
- Proficiency with computer applications and inventory tracking systems.
- Must possess a valid Lift Truck Operator’s license.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
