General Laborer - Mixing
Assists operators with the preparation and mixing of compounded materials, assisting with weigh-ups, cleaning, moving materials, pumping out the mixer into 55‑gallon drums, moving drums, printing labels, assisting with change‑outs, cleaning mixers, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Provides support during the mixing process by helping as needed with changes, pack‑out, and cleaning.
- Cleans the mixer, mixer parts, and mixing cans according to established processes.
- Packages silicone into the appropriate container after it has been blended, properly labels the containers, and records what has been produced on a daily production sheet.
- Provides support with housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning parts, etc.
- Reliable and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ability to climb in and out and work around the mixing vessel during the cleaning process.
- Frequently lifts and moves up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis; occasionally lifts and moves up to 100 lbs. independently and with the assistance of a co‑worker or equipment.
- Remains in a stationary position, occasionally and frequently for up to 8 hours per day.
- Frequently moves within the department and within the plant.
- Frequently positions self to work around, under and within mixing equipment in order to add product or clean equipment.
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service mixing equipment.
- Able to climb in and out of a vessel for cleaning.
- When moving the drums to the scale, pushing 300 kg of material, with the help of wheels – but can feel like moving 100 lbs.
Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 7 AM – 5 PM. Breaks: 2 × 15‑minute paid breaks and 1 × 30‑minute paid lunch. OT:
As available, Fridays, 7 AM – 3 PM. PPE:
Steel‑toed or safety‑toed shoes required. Safety glasses are provided.
Pay: $16.00 per hour; possibly higher for someone with prior manufacturing/chemical experience.
