Shipping & Receiving

Prepares and packages components for shipment. Verifies and keeps records for all outgoing shipments.

• Daily communication with company driver, shipping schedule and Materials Manager to assure delivery schedules are met to customers’ requests
• Proper packaging procedures are required to be met to guarantee products will not be damaged during the shipping process
• Review and understand shipping techniques, packaging, labeling/marking and shipping requirements per customer purchase orders and specifications as applicable
• Create packing lists per company ERP system with accuracy to Job, PO Number and PO Line. Additional details on pack lists may be required per product or customer
• Controls and organizes the flow of items throughout the shipping department by priority and schedule per Job
• Understand and utilize shipping programs for method of shipment, e.g., Fed Ex, UPS, etc.
• Maintain accurate weight measurements of each shipment to guarantee proper costing is incurred
• Build wooden crates or cardboard containers as standard practices in this role
• Tube and label customer product
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Control count, accuracy and allocate finished goods to inventory
• Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to other storage or work area
• Assist with some part assembly
• Read and understand paperwork
• Prioritize and schedule by daily product flow

• Experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus
• Proven track record of working in a fast paced and team oriented environment
• Prior experience in a Shipping or Receiving Department is a plus

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Microsoft Office Knowledge
• Fed Ex Manager and UPS World Ship are desired but not required
