Role Description

The Boat Builder role at Tartan Yachts is a full-time, on-site position based in Painesville, OH. This role involves assembling and constructing yacht components, including hulls, decks, interiors, and rigging, according to detailed plans and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks may include laminating fiberglass and composite materials, fitting and finishing structures, installing hardware, and performing inspections to ensure safety and durability. Boat Builders collaborate with production team members, follow shop drawings and specifications, maintain a clean and organized work area, and adhere to all workplace safety procedures.

The role also requires consistent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to maintaining Tartan Yachts’ quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in boat building and general boat construction methods.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with the marine industry and yachting environments.
  • Candidates should possess laminating skills, including working with fiberglass and composite materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Prior experience in marine manufacturing, composites, or related fields is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or trade training is a plus.
