Position: CMM Programmer (1st Shift)

1st Shift CMM Programmer

Location:

Mentor, Ohio

Shift: 1st Shift, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Programmer to join our 1st shift Quality team in Mentor. In this role, you will program LK, Wenzel, and Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform dimensional inspections of castings, fixtures, and gages. The ideal candidate has a strong programming background, mechanical aptitude, and experience with airfoil layouts or tool building, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program CMM machines using Camio, OpenDMIS, and/or GOM software to inspect castings and tooling.
  • Review airfoil blueprints and collaborate with Quality and Product Engineers to develop inspection plans.
  • Train CMM production operators and create or update inspection procedures as required.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment and communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Minimum A.S. in Mechanical Engineering or extensive experience in airfoil layout inspection, tooling, or programming.
  • Strong CMM programming skills; experience with Camio, OpenDMIS, and GOM software preferred.
  • Computer knowledge of AutoCAD, IGES, Excel, and Unigraphics is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience; casting experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Comfortable handling high-stress situations and tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of trigonometry and algebra.
