Overview
Retail Team Leader (Key Holder) role focuses on managing day‑to‑day store operations, supervising sales associates, ensuring inventory accuracy, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and organized store environment.
Responsibilities- Open and close the store
- Assist with daily store operations and tasks
- Unload merchandise from delivery trucks, organize stock, and transfer items from stockroom to sales floor
- Maintain merchandise: product rotation, proper food handling, receiving, and quality assurance
- Provide exceptional customer service by building relationships, solving problems, and driving sales
- Handle cash: bank deposits, give change for cashiers, reset and count registers
- Build and train the team; supervise sales associates in the performance of their assigned duties
- Develop leadership skills while aiding in team growth
- 1–2 years of retail experience with progressive responsibility
- Valid driver’s license strongly preferred
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and lift items above shoulder height.
Schedule AvailabilityFlexible, full‑time schedule including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to operate power equipment such as slicers, walkie lifts, and forklifts. Availability for occasional night‑time alarm responses and shift work at other local stores.
Additional RequirementsMinimum age 18. High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of pre‑employment checks, including drug screen and criminal background check. Basic computer skills required. Candidates who work for a GFS customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for interview.
