The role of an Outside Food Sales Representative involves cultivating relationships, developing new business, and providing innovative solutions to help customers achieve their goals.

• Base salary: $65,000 – $120,000 based on experience; salary during training then transition to commission

• Overall sales and relationship management for existing and prospective customers in assigned territory
• Identify and pursue new customers through research of industry and market trends
• Develop sales strategies highlighting products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service and present them to prospective customers
• Deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships via regular visits (weekly, bi‑weekly, monthly) and business reviews to uncover needs and growth opportunities
• Provide ongoing training to customers on product offerings
• Identify opportunities to add value through product and service offerings within existing customer businesses
• Balance new customer acquisition and deepening existing relationships while managing territory
• Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers and communicate order status and processing updates

• Engage in e‑learning, classroom sessions, video role‑plays, job shadowing, and peer mentorship during first 90 days
• Learn to use Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships
• Understand available product catalog for customers
• Master the sales process for engaging new customers
• Establish relationships in the vast network of resources available to a sales representative
• Apply best practices on developing relationships with current and prospective customers
• Manage territory effectively

• High School Diploma/GED required;
  Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
• One year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to obtain food safety certification
• Candidate who works for a Gordon Food Service customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for interview
