Field Service TechnicianFull Time Mentor OH, Mentor, OH, US
Salary Range: $25.00 To $40.00 Hourly
AboutWe seek an experienced forklift technician with 3+ years' experience in a shop or field setting. Automotive technicians with experience in dealership settings are also encouraged to apply. Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulate boom equipment, used in construction.
ReportingThis is considered an hourly position and reports directly to the Shop service manager.
Responsibilities- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Troubleshooting – determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; repairing machines or systems using needed tools.
- Equipment Maintenance – performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Equipment Selection – determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
- Installation – installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
- Operating Monitoring – watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.
- Problem Sensitivity – recognizing when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Information Ordering – arranging actions in a specific order or pattern according to rules.
- Manual Dexterity – moving hands and arms quickly to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Near Vision – seeing details at close range.
- Multi‑limb Coordination – coordinating two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.
- Control Precision – quickly and repeatedly adjusting controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
- Must be able to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shield, gloves, and work apron.
- Frequently involves heavy lifting or pulling (up to 100 pounds) or working in awkward positions, or lying on back working beneath truck.
- Uses trade‑type tools or hand tools.
- Must have own tools.
