Automotive Glass Technician Trainee

The Auto Glass Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting with repairs and replacements of automotive glass under the supervision of a more experienced glass technician. The experienced technician will work with the trainee to help teach the process of a quality glass repair. This position comes with most tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle to use during the workday.
This is a full-time opportunity that works during the 8:00 am – 4:30 pm time frame, Monday through Friday. The Auto Glass Technician Trainee will report to the Glass Manager and pay will commensurate with the chosen candidate's experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist senior glass technicians in the installation, repair, and replacement of automotive glass, including windshields, side windows, and back glass.
- Learn to safely handle and prepare glass, adhesives, and tools in accordance with company and industry safety standards.
- Support the setup and cleanup of work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Observe and participate in vehicle inspections to identify glass damage and determine repair or replacement needs.
- Provide top-notch customer service to all customers.
- Maintain a safe and satisfactory driving record according to company policy.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical ability and aptitude required
- Prior vehicle disassembly experience strongly preferred
- Prior technical schooling or training related to the automotive field is preferred, but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background and credit check
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or carry large and heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods during service tasks
