Position Summary

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Events & Facilities Rentals, coordinates both internal and external events that take place on the Concordia campus. The Coordinator assists with the event planning, marketing, promotion, and administration for the university and specifically the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center (Center) events and activities. Assists with social media posting and website updates as needed.

Provides excellent service to all internal and external customer, develops relationships with stakeholders, and assists with the effective management of university events. Responsibilities include carrying out all aspects of university events such as set-up, catering, billing, advertising, and post event follow-up.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Coordinator of Events & Facility Rentals, assists with aspects of event execution for university events, to include Concordia Free Enterprise Center speaker series and events. Helps with event planning, marketing, and all aspects leading up to and day‑of responsibilities. Other work can include identifying venues, creating agendas, interfacing with speakers and participants, making accommodations, and providing excellent customer service to event participants and organizers.
  • Facilitates the marketing and management of all Center's events; including managing e‑mail lists, maintaining social media presence, designing posters and brochures in Canva, processing registrations, pre‑ and post‑event follow‑up with attendees.
  • Using EMS to reserve spaces on campus that are needed for events to take place and ensuring that campus events are posted on the campus calendar and Event committee shared spreadsheet.
  • Assist in maintaining a social media presence for appropriate events and request updates to the Free Enterprise Center webpage, including posting speaker recordings.
  • Assist with financial responsibilities for Concordia events, including invoicing, expenses, and making deposits, as directed.

  • Ability to handle many events and projects at various stages of completion
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1–2 years of Marketing, event planning and social media/website management experience preferred
  • 1+ years of Proficiency in Canva, Hometown Ticketing, EMS, Create Send, Word, Excel, Zoom, and Outlook preferred
  • 1+ years of Experience in creating promotional flyers and brochures preferred

This is a part‑time, non‑exempt (hourly) position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience. There is a tuition waiver benefit for part time employees.
