Position Summary
Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for a full-time education faculty position specializing in early childhood/elementary education starting in academic year. This position is in the School of Education located on the Mequon, WI, campus and directly accountable to the Assistant Dean of Curriculum, Licensure, and Assessment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach courses primarily in the early childhood and elementary programs (in-person & online)
- Advise education students
- Participate in interdepartmental faculty committees, academic scholarship, and university service
- Observe student teachers
- Assist with portfolio adjudication
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor teacher candidates
- Ability to teach courses in early childhood/elementary education (in-person and online)
- College/university-level teaching experience preferred

Education & Experience
A commissioned minister of religion status in the Lutheran Church/Missouri Synod and a doctorate in education are preferred, although highly qualified Christian (non-LCMS) applicants possessing a graduate degree in education and progress towards or willingness to obtain a doctorate will be considered. Prior P-12 teaching experience is required; prior college teaching experience is desirable. Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in education
- Minimum of three years of P/K-9 teaching experience
Preferred:
- Doctoral degree in education (or ABD status with completion in progress)
- Commissioned Minister of Religion in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS); highly qualified Christian (non-LCMS) candidates will also be considered
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license (or previously held license), or equivalent license from another state
- If not a valid teaching license, then an administrator license (e.g., Reading Specialist, Principal, or Special Education)
- Scholarship and service contributions in the field of early childhood/elementary education
- Specialties or credentials in, but not limited to, literacy, special education, or departmental leadership
