- Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, to teach conventional machining, CNC machining set-up and operations in a related and laboratory atmosphere; and to provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
EducationalMinimum Experience:
- Must have completed a Wisconsin Indentured apprenticeship in Machine Tool or Tool and Die; OR
- Must have completed an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Computer Numerical Control or related field (example; Manufacturing/Industrial engineering)
Minimum Experience:
- Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) of relevant work experience in CNC programming including CAM experience.
- In addition, at least ONE of the following must be met:
- At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years; OR
- Two years of teaching Numerical Control course work at the post-secondary level within the past five years

- Experience with Self-Service or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters - Blackboard Ultra
- Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems - Technology-based Instruction
- Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology - Emerging Technologies
- Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)
- Online Information Management Systems
Start Date:
This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the spring semester; 16-week classes begin around mid-January. Primarily looking for candidates who are available to teach daytime weekday hours.

Location:
This in-person position is a .5 FTE. Hours and location are based on enrollment and departmental need. Modality is IN-PERSON.
Salary:
Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.
