Job Overview
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is Wisconsin's largest and most diverse technical college, offering 170+ high‑quality programs that connect students to a career in as little as one to two years. MATC also offers a less expensive path to a four‑year degree. Under the direction of the Associate Dean of the General Education Pathway (or designee) this role develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses.
Teaching will occur in‑person at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, college functions, and course and curriculum development in both traditional and non‑traditional formats.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching‑related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow‑up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Educational Requirements:
Must have at least ONE of the following:
- Master's degree or higher in Economics specifically.
- Master's degree or higher in any field with at least 18 graduate‑level coursework credits in Economics specific coursework.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the minimums listed above):
- Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education.
- Experience in teaching, using, and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including face‑to‑face, blended, and 100% online.
- Must be able to develop and maintain curriculum currency.

- Blackboard Ultra – experience with Blackboard or other web‑based course‑management systems
- Technology‑based Instruction – experience with technology‑based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch‑screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
- Emerging Technologies – experience with emerging technologies (e.g., social networking applications)
Start Date:
The position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start for the fall semester; approximately mid‑August 2026.
This is a part‑time faculty pool position. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin.

Salary:
