Position Summary
The role of Admission Counselor for Traditional Undergraduate Admission is focused on the external recruitment activity and relationships with prospective traditional aged students for Concordia University Wisconsin. This role is responsible for the development and completion of an annual recruitment plan within a geographic territory, engaging students from inquiry to enrollment. As a key public-facing, revenue-generating role, the position carries annual measurable enrollment goals.
Qualified applicants for this role will have strong interpersonal engagement, dynamic energy, communication and collaboration. This full-time exempt position serves as a member of the Traditional Undergraduate Admission team at the Mequon, WI campus and is integral for key success indicators within the university's strategic enrollment plan. This position reports directly to the Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admission.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview and counsel prospective undergraduate students for traditional, on-campus academic programs and university experience
- Recruit, follow-up and facilitate admission for traditional undergraduate students
- Attend college fairs, host information sessions and visit high schools in market areas
- Maintain relationships with program directors, faculty, staff and others
- Develop an annual recruitment plan and work toward identified enrollment goals
- May perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience and knowledge of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod
- Ideal candidate will have attended Lutheran secondary schooling and/or college
- Excellent communication skills – written, interpersonal and public speaking
- Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
- Knowledge and skill in use of computer and software common to the academic setting, especially a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings (approximately once per month)
- Availability for overnight travel is required
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree is required for this role and one to three years of experience in admission/recruitment or higher education is preferred. Other related career roles in sales, marketing, and/or customer service industries will also be considered.
