Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, to teach conventional machining, CNC machining set-up and operations in a related and laboratory atmosphere; and to provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming.
  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.

Educational

Minimum Experience:

  • Must have completed a Wisconsin Indentured apprenticeship in Machine Tool or Tool and Die; OR
  • Must have completed an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Computer Numerical Control or related field (example; Manufacturing/Industrial engineering)
Occupational

Minimum Experience:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) of relevant work experience in CNC programming including CAM experience.
  • In addition, at least ONE of the following must be met:
    • At least one year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years; OR
    • Two years of teaching Numerical Control course work at the post-secondary level within the past five years
Preferred Licensure in addition to the minimum requirements listed above:
  • Journey level status in one of the following:
    Tool & Die, Machine Tool
