Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Join Hayes Performance Systems as our Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for machining, assembly, automation, and controls initiatives. In this role, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead manufacturing innovation, and partner across the organization to improve operational performance. You'll play a key role in developing engineering talent, implementing automation strategies, and supporting the continued growth of our manufacturing capabilities.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and develop a team of Manufacturing, Controls, Machining, and Assembly Engineers
- Drive strategic manufacturing initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost performance
- Champion automation and controls solutions, including robotics, PLC programming, vision systems, and digital manufacturing technologies
- Partner with Operations leadership to identify opportunities, solve manufacturing challenges, and improve plant performance
- Lead process optimization, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing operations
- Establish engineering standards, technical roadmaps, and talent development strategies that support long-term business objectives
- Manage capital equipment projects from concept through implementation, including scope, budget, timeline, and resource planning
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to improve manufacturability and support successful product launches
- Monitor key operational and engineering metrics to drive manufacturing performance and business results
What We Look For:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field required
Master's degree preferred
8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a machining, assembly, or industrial manufacturing environment
3+ years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
Proven success leading cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements
Experience implementing Lean manufacturing, automation, and process improvement initiatives
Experience managing capital equipment projects and budgets
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Bonus:
Experience with robotics, PLC programming, industrial networking, or advanced manufacturing technologies
Experience supporting engineered products in a performance-driven manufacturing environment
