Data Governance Manager

About The Role

Our client is seeking a Data Governance Manager to establish and lead its enterprise Data Governance program. This is a unique opportunity to build governance capabilities from the ground up and create the processes, standards, and operating model that will support enterprise-wide data quality, compliance, analytics, and future AI initiatives.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can successfully partner with both business and technical teams to drive organizational change.

Location: Mequon, WI (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hi Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's Data Governance program and governance initiatives.
• Develop and implement enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship, and governance committees.
• Define enterprise data standards, policies, and best practices.
• Improve data quality, consistency, and accountability across the organization.
• Partner with business stakeholders to document business processes and data workflows.
• Promote data literacy and governance adoption across departments.
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to support enterprise data strategy.

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related disciplines.
• Experience building Data Governance programs from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of data stewardship, data quality, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.

• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM).
• Experience implementing governance within cloud data environments.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Oracle, Salesforce, Azure, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus.
