Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Job Overview
Perform physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods, and reject unsatisfactory items. Lift heavy items and may operate a forklift or order picker. Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped, post weights and shipping charges, and prepare goods for final shipment.
Examine stocks and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines, and prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
Report to the Warehouse Supervisor and work onsite in Mequon, WI. This is a 1st Shift role (M-F, 6:00AM–2:00PM) with mandatory overtime as needed.
Responsibilities- Use tools and equipment including hammers, cutters for wood, cardboard and plastics, forklifts and other motorized equipment.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles, scanning devices and other material handling equipment.
- Follow documented work instructions and manufacturing execution systems for receiving, picking, and delivering parts.
- Perform moderately difficult assignments and processes independently.
- Operate multiple powered industrial vehicles to load, unload and transfer materials or finished products.
- Assemble product and deliver materials to production areas.
- Pick up waste and deliver finished product on a scheduled route.
- Assist with changeovers, provide tools and materials, and support standard work to maintain production flow.
- Place reorder requests for floor stock and bulk materials.
- Review documentation and use SAP/external systems to assess, replenish and prioritize materials and finished goods for production and shipping.
- Provide documentation support, materials administration, and general process support.
- Work overtime (typically 8hours per week) as required by operational demands.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Typically requires 2years of related experience.
