We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician who enjoys solving mechanical and electrical challenges while providing exceptional customer service.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician II to join our growing service team. This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys traveling, troubleshooting complex industrial equipment, and working independently at customer sites. This role requires approximately 100% travel throughout the United States, with occasional overtime and weekend work based on customer needs. While the position is based in South Dakota, it is not necessary for candidates to live there.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and emergency service repairs.
- Install replacement components and perform equipment modifications and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and electrical controls.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and customer work orders.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status, repair recommendations, and maintenance needs.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while representing the company in a professional manner.
- Follow all company and customer safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and required PPE.
- Assist with equipment commissioning, start-ups, and operator training as needed.
