Position: North Shore Country Club - Assitant Superintendent

North Shore Country Club is a 27‑hole private club located in Mequon, Wisconsin. We have a robust golfing membership with a new‑member wait list. Phase 1 of a complete golf course master plan renovation with Dusenberry Golf Course Design is slated to begin in August 2026. The plan focuses on bunker renovation and placement, fairway and approach line adjustments, and adjustment of teeing locations for all golfers.

New irrigation system and pump stations will also be replaced.

We are seeking an energetic, positive and self‑motivated person to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent. As a key member of the club’s maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with day‑to‑day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course, tree removals and pruning, course renovation work, and off‑season maintenance. This is a position to get a taste of all operations involved in a full‑service 27‑hole facility.

Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Superintendent serves in all capacities of the Golf Course Superintendent during his absence.
  • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in the planning, layout and maintenance of golf course property and in the supervision of the maintenance team.
  • A primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the proper application and handling of all chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Monitor daily moisture levels and correct as needed.
  • Report to work on time and complete all scheduled shifts.
  • Able to work weekends during the growing season (every other weekend).
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Tour golf course and practice areas daily to assess course conditions.
  • Train personnel in correct and safe methods and procedures to accomplish their assignments.
  • Establish a good rapport with fellow team members and project a positive attitude.
  • Lead by example and participate in manual labor as needed or required.
  • Repair irrigation and scout for possible problems.
  • Able to follow specific directions to complete job tasks.
Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English – Spanish) communication ability preferred.
