Extra- Student Intern

Position: Extra-Help Student Intern
Please note:

Extra-Help are not entitled to county benefits and are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week.

This position will provide front counter support in the Department of Public Works Roads Division.

Duties:

* Assist the public in person or by telephone and obtain information to take appropriate action.

* Perform data entry.

* Review forms and submitted materials for basic compliance and completion before processing.

* Record maintenance.

* Screen and distribute incoming mail.

* Scanning.

* Filing.

* Compose letters and other correspondence ensuring the information is complete, accurate, and consistent with forms, procedures, and regulations.

* Obtain and relate information related to department programs and records.

* Maintain some accounting records and logs in accordance with prescribed procedures and regulations.

* Provide office support for Division staff.

* Other related duties as assigned.

Desirable

Qualifications:

* Operate a personal computer and other modern office equipment.

* Knowledgeable in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

* Ability to communicate professionally in person, over the phone, and through email communications.

* Ability to analyze data, interpret directions, procedures and regulations, and develop appropriate responses.

* Ability to complete multiple priority projects with conflicting deadlines.

* Must be able to perform job assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

* Must be able to adjust to unexpected changes in work demand to meet deadlines.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
