Position overview Position title: Lecturer in Summer Session
Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an initial appointment is $70,977. See Unit 18 Lecturer table for the salary range for this position. For current appointees, normal compensation will be based on the annual salary of the Unit 18 non-senate faculty in effect as of June 30 of the calendar year in which summer session begins. Salary is prorated in accordance with the instructional workload calculation.

Introduction to Molecular Biology
Intro to Organismal Biology
Math Modeling for Biology
Molecular Basis of Healing and Disease
Molecular Biology Lab
Molecular Immunology
Nutrition
Organismal Biology Lab
The Cell
Other courses as needed
In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Advanced degree in Biology or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.
