Open pool for academic year 2025‑2026.

This is a part‑time instructional assignment under the general direction of the Dean of Career Technical Education. The professor will teach a variety of drafting courses. The maximum teaching load is 10 units per semester, which may include evening and weekend hours.

• Provide innovative and effective instruction in accordance with current pedagogy and established course outlines and expectations.
• Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies and maintain regular and substantive contact with students.
• Maintain and submit required student attendance and scholastic records on the Learning Management System (e.g., grades and syllabi).
• Utilize the Learning Management System to deliver, prepare, and grade class assignments and examinations.
• Maintain and utilize effective skills in instructional design, applications, and methods.
• Post and maintain regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy.
• Participate in the development and review of curriculum.
• Participate in the development of teaching‑learning methods and materials.
• Participate in departmental, area, and campus professional activities and committees.
• Represent the college within the Merced community and within professional circles.
• Participate in the college's learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments to continually improve student learning outcomes.

• Any bachelor’s degree or higher and at least two years of professional experience related to computer‑aided drafting or a related field; or
• Any associate’s degree and at least six years of related professional experience; or
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree or higher.
• Proficiency in promoting and incorporating culturally affirming DEIA and anti‑racist principles to nurture a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment.

• Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments.

• Salary: $65.60 – $84.79 per hour.
• Flexible teaching hours including evenings and weekends.
• Sick leave credit at the rate of one hour for each twenty hours of paid service (part‑time).
