Teaching Assistant
Salary range: $70,720 annually (see Table 18).
Percentage time: 25%‑50% during Fall & Spring semesters, or up to 100% during summer sessions.
Anticipated start dates:
Summer 2026 – May 17, 2026;
Fall 2026 – Aug 15, 2026;
Spring 2027 – Jan 1, 2027.
Position duration: up to one semester or a summer term.

The School of Engineering anticipates hiring Teaching Assistants for lower‑ and upper‑division courses for the Academic Year 2026‑2027, including Summer Session 2026, in the following disciplines:
- Mechanical Engineering – Engineering Fundamentals (e.g., Introduction to Materials, Statics and Dynamics, Circuit Theory, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Strength of Materials, Spatial Analysis, Information Systems, etc.)
The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for grading, attending lectures, leading discussion sections when appropriate, and holding office hours.
Basic Qualifications- Curriculum Vitae – most recently updated C.V.
- List of Subjects/Courses – list of subjects or courses eligible to teach based on academic or teaching experience (optional).
- Authorization to Release Information Form – required for finalists to disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct. "Misconduct" means any violation of the policies or laws governing conduct at the applicant’s previous place of employment, including sexual harassment, assault, or discrimination, as defined by the employer.
