Position: School Counselor Pool (2026-2027 School Year)

School Counselor

Attention:
This position is to begin in the  school year. Under the direction of the School Principal or designee, the School Counselor is responsible for implementing a counseling program to support the District's instructional program. Will provide personal support to help enable students, parents and staff to make sound decisions about academic, social, behavioral and personal opportunities, needs and conflicts. Is responsible for supporting the program by serving as a member of the Family Support Team.

Provides planned learning experiences to motivate students, using weekly lesson plans. Provides small group instruction to adapt the Common Core State Standard and District curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Makes use of all available professional assistance in assessing pupils' needs. Maintains standards of pupil behavior necessary to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Maintains professional competence through participation of in-service education provided by the District and/or self-selected professional growth activities.

Bachelor's Degree or higher including all courses necessary to meet State Credential requirements. Valid California Pupil Services Credential. Bilingual Spanish / Hmong preferred.
