Teacher of Severely Handicapped Pool

Special Education Teacher

Under the direction of the Coordinator, Special Education Department, teaches severely handicapped students utilizing prescribed curriculum. Works in cooperation with specialists, parents and agency representatives in providing for the educational and personal needs of the students. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of instructional aides assigned to the Program. This position is included in the certificated bargaining unit and is subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership.

Education:

BA/BS Degree plus appropriate coursework to qualify for credential to teach severely handicapped students. Credentials and/or

Skills:

Hold/qualify for CA teaching credential authorizing the teaching of severely handicapped students. EL Authorization. Valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV drivers printout required.
