Anticipated start: Academic Year: 7/1/2026 - 6/30/2027. Fall Semester: 8/1/2026 - 12/31/2026. Spring Semester: 1/1/2027 - 5/31/2027.

Position descriptionThe Bioengineering department in the School of Engineering anticipates hiring full and/or part-time lecturer positions to teach the following courses for Academic Year :
- BIOE 021:
Introduction to Computing with Python - ENGR 030:
Introduction to Conservation Principles in Engineering - ENGR 080:
Statistical Modeling and Data Analysis - BIOE 130:
Biothermodynamics - BIOE 140:
Biomolecular Engineering - BIOE 145:
Bioprocess Engineering
Other courses as needed. See catalog for course descriptions.
In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (minimum 2 hours per week), and grading examinations and/or papers. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant or reader.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement. See the following UAW-AFL-CIO.

QualificationsBasic qualifications: Advanced degree in Computer Science & Engineering or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
